Laura Solomon
One of two winners of the inaugural Proverse Prize (2009).
Gillian and Verner Bickley, Laura’s publishers, are deeply sorry to learn of Laura’s death from brain cancer on 18 February 2019 at the age of forty-four: a bright, perceptive, witty writer, with a keen ear for dialogue and a wry and objective vision of modern life. She had an ability to see the world from the perspectives of often marginalised others and to comprehend their circumstances. Comedy and tragedy both flowed to her pen from the abundance of her imagination.
If you have read her work, it would be good to post a tribute on any space to which you have access. If you have not, but set out to do so, you have a surprising and entertaining journey in store.
